Dryland Training and Ski Swap

I am sure you are wondering about changes to the coaching staff this season. An official communication will be coming your way very soon! In the interim, I can assure you that the 2022-23 ski season will be awesome and packed with all the great ‘ on snow’ training and laborious race days you know and love. Negative 30 degree days notwithstanding 😁.

While we await an official notice and a date for the official “Team Meeting”, I wanted to be proactive about getting families and athletes together ASAP. As such, we will be hosting a dryland session and gear swap next Saturday, October 15th. This will not be a team meeting and you are not required to attend. This is a purely optional event and hopefully a fun event.

Though I understand notice is short and I expect many families to have conflicts; I felt it critical for families to meet up to buy and sell gear. Lead times for race gear are long and our products go out of stock very quickly. If you cannot make this gear swap session – don’t freak out – 😲 – I plan to have a second gear swap and dryland session a week or two after this initial session.

Date: Saturday, October 15th
Location: Larry Fink Memorial Park – Highland Park, IL

(Larry Fink is right off Route 41 at Calvey Road – I plan to be all the way at the end of Deer Creek Parkway on – or near – the soccer fields. I have applied for and been approved for a permit but frankly I am awaiting specifics from the Park District of Highland Park.)

Time: 10:00 AM to Noonish

What to expect:

I will be running a dryland/fitness program for athletes starting at about 10:15 AM. The session will last about 45 minutes and will include sprints, body weight exercises, and calisthenics, etc. Attire for athletes can be just comfortable athletic clothes for whatever the weather may bring, your favorite pair of athletic/training shoes and a water bottle. Think soccer practice without the cleats.

Parents – please bring any gear you have to sell. I anticipate setting up shop in the parking lot/out the trunks of cars. Personally; I have two (2) pairs of boots to sell, one (1) pair of adult race boots and one (1) pair of Jr. race boots. I also am on the hunt for a pair of Jr. SL skis for my son. Please bring gear you want to sell; jackets, pants, boots, helmets – you get the idea…

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. My cell phone is below. I will look out for your email, texts or calls.
