The toughest run at Tyrol is the parking lot!!
Get there early or you park in Canada!
As you walk (slide) down the hill from the parking lot, stay to the right and follow the crowd. Take racers here to the bottom of the B Lift first and then go get lift tickets. To get tickets, WALK on the parking side, up and around the building and down the stairs. If you are on skis it’s a good skate around the lake to tickets. It’s best to walk it and walk back.
At Tyrol we hang out outside all day. The chalet is far and not worth visiting. They sell food out at the finish. Be sure to stay behind the ropes, it’s crazy down there!
Remember, parents are not permitted on the course or inside the race arena at any time including inspection.
Racers need to watch their speed when free skiing. They take tickets away for reckless skiing and you will not be allowed to race the rest of the day.
As always, check in with your coach at the finish after your run. Notify your coach if you don’t have a time on the board or for any issues.
After racing daily there is extended awards ceremony (with adult beverages) served on the sundeck.
Saturday will be the bump up trophies and special leadership awards as well as daily awards and also the participation medals for u8 and u10 racers.
Sunday is the season championship trophies. There is always a Wilmot racer who wins a giant trophy who went home early not realizing their season score earned them a points trophy!
Also the team trophies will be presented .
Sunday after the final runs, there is the senior fun run. These are worth staying around for.
Saturday night bowling party is always the highlight of the Wilmot season – the USSA racers up aim the upper peninsula after race back in time to attend!
I look forward to seeing everyone at at Ten Pin Sat night.
Ski fast and have fun!
