Race Camp Details and more

We will have Race Camp this week and next:

Tues / Wed/ Thurs
Dec 27, 28, 29
Jan 3,4,5

All team members are welcome to attend as many sessions as they wish, 9:30 am – 12:30. We will meet at the top of the course by 9:30am. coaches will be on the hill before lifts open setting the training venue.

For the first week, 12/27-12/29, we will run GS on Tues and Wed, SL on Thursday

For GS days, no chin bars, pole guards or soft sided helmets are permitted. Racers should also remove shin guards. Most GS racers wear arm guards and spine protectors.

It is imperative, when we run speed, that athletes follow directions – and enter and exit the courses and race venue as instructed. Racers should not jump back in after they fall or cut out early as they may be in the path of oncoming racers from above or a side by side course or drill session.

We plan to run video as well as timing during camp.

Please bring/wear your FreeLap yellow chip if you have one. I have some for sale should you need. I think they are $125 each.

We will be exploring line in the GS course and playing with what lines and movements result in better times. Even more important are the free skiing drills we will be doing on GS skis.

Here is a video of outside ski turns to review with your athlete:
